Eyes to the skies, birders! Toribird here with another edition of “Birding at The Woodlands.” It's fall migration, and this is likely the best time of year to see both Common Nighthawks and Chimney Swifts.

The battle, which ravaged the small town and farmlands over the course of five days, was one of the bloodiest battles of the American Civil War. Souder was one of hundreds of female volunteers who assisted in nursing the dying and wounded soldiers and civilians.

This year they moved over a couple trees, but are still in the same area - by the Dell, north of the colossal Evans obelisk.
