Second Saturday Tour: The Woodlands Urban Arboretum

The Woodlands is home to over 700 trees, and William Hamilton first introduced many of them to the United States. Explore this urban arboretum with tree experts Ned Barnard and Catriona Briger, co-authors of “Philadelphia Trees”.

About the speakers:
Catriona Bull Briger has a Masters in Landscape Architecture and currently works as a designer, editor, and writer in Philadelphia.

Edward Sibley Barnard has written and edited dozens of illustrated books on natural history during a career of more than fifty years in publishing. He is a native of Chestnut Hill outside of Philadelphia.

Experience The Woodlands a whole new way every Second Saturday this May through October with Mansion & Cemetery Tours, Themed Tours and Lectures. Explore the unique aspects of your favorite neighborhood historic site with special guests and Woodlands’ staff. Each Second Saturday, Themed Tours will begin at 11:00am, and House & Cemetery Tours will begin at 1:00pm. Come for one, or picnic on the grounds and stay for both!
