Bat Night

UPDATE: BAT NIGHT POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN

Stay tuned for updates on Bat Night's new date!

We're bringing back the bat walk and will delve into some of the mysteries surrounding bats. Bring a picnic, get creative with University City Arts League, and enjoy some sweet summer treats from Lil' Pop Shop

Join us and some members of Wild West Philly on a bat walk through The Woodlands! We'll start at the Hamilton Mansion and walk as a group through the cemetery to the highest point in center circle, using a bat detector to look for bats along the way. Bats don't fly until it's dark out, so the Bat Walk will start at 8:30PM!

Marianne Gagnon is this year's Bat Night specialist. She joined the Sewall Lab at Temple University in the fall of 2015. She is interested in understanding how environmental change influences the ecology, behavior, and conservation of wildlife populations. Marianne is also focusing on North American bat populations affected by white-nose syndrome, an emerging infectious disease. This event is FREE and open to the public. Parking is limited, so please consider walking, biking, or taking public transportation.

In the event of inclement weather, Bat Night will be cancelled and notice will be posted on our website and social media pages at least 2 hours prior to the event start time.
