Toribird is back for a Winter Solstice Celebration Tuesday, December 20th from 3:30pm - 5:00pm. Join her for a bird walk to Center Circle at 3:30pm seek out both year-round residents and special cold-weather visitors. We will also discuss the winter finches and other irruptive species making an appearance in the area this year and cover potential strategies for finding these frosty feathered friends.
Free, pre-registration required.

1. Common Redpoll snacking on birch catkins. This is a species that could potentially show up locally this winter.
2. Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers are frequent winter visitors to areas like The Woodlands.
3. Irruptive birds such as this male Purple Finch are making an appearance in the region this winter.
