Join the Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing and The Woodlands for a Nurses’ Week celebration on May 8th, 2024, from 4-5:30pm. Located less than a mile from the Bates Center and Fagin Hall, The Woodlands cemetery is the final resting place for some of Philadelphia’s most influential nurses. Join us for a walking tour through The Woodlands, learn about the lives of some of Penn’s most influential nurses and their relationship to Penn Nursing, and honor the work of nurses both past and present. Afterwards, you are invited to a small reception in The Woodlands’ 18th century Hamilton Mansion. Registration is required, spots are limited.
Please note, this event is a walking tour that will traverse paved and unpaved terrain, and will take place rain or shine. Please contact the Barbara Bates Center at nhistory@nursing.upenn.edu regarding any accommodations that you may need.
