Herbs as Medicine, A Colonial Perspective.

  • The Woodlands 4000 Woodland Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19104 USA (map)

Join Herbalist Tiffany Robbins in learning how herbs were used as medicine during colonial times and how these traditions are carried on today. Herbs and edible plants were key to Philadelphia’s early connection to medicine, and to the foodways of The Woodlands when it was the estate of William Hamilton (1770 - 1813).

Featuring a talk and tour, this event will take place in the historic Hamilton Mansion, and across the 54 acres of The Woodlands. Please plan to walk up to half a mile during this event. After the tour, light refreshments will be provided in the Hamilton Mansion.

This program is co-sponsored with the Historic Foodways Society of the Delaware Valley.
