Online Conference
9:00am - 12:30pm
(with options for on-site Cemetery Tours at 2:00pm)
Cemeteries are an integral part of our urban infrastructure and ecosystem. Learn how preserving and caring for these important open spaces is vital to the ecological, economic and social sustainability of communities today.
Historic cemeteries represent large portions of open space in many cities. Preserving this open space, particularly in an era of global climate change, is critical for the sustainability of urban communities. Cemeteries, especially during the recent pandemic, increasingly became places of refuge and recreation, peace, and connection. Caring for their living collections of canopy trees and shrubs, as well as the resting places of their dead, has never been more important.
Join us virtually from 9:00am - 12:30pm for engaging discussion and meet in person at 2:00pm for an on-location cemetery tour.
