Winter Solstice Celebration

The December Solstice marks the "turning of the Sun" and the days slowly getting longer. Join us in celebration of lighter days to come and nature’s continuing cycle.

2:00-4:00PM DROP-IN SOLSTICE CRAFT MAKING at the Hamilton Mansion. We'll make crafts like pine cone bird feeders, lanterns, and hanging twigs to decorate the diverse trees on the site and help all of our critters get through the Winter months. We'll use these creations during the parade!

4:00-5:00PM SOLSTICE PARADE! Meet us at the front gates and walk to Center Circle where there will be a small ceremony to celebrate the shortest day of the year. Stories, song, tree decorating and more!

BYO flashlights and lanterns to help light the way.

Note:
There will be no parking or vehicular traffic allowed inside The Woodlands on Sunday, December 20th.
Please walk, bike, or take public transit (SEPTA's 40th Street Trolley Portal is directly across from our gates!). If you must drive, limited street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood.

This event is free and open to the public
